In class Monday my group did our little report on Bob Ross. But Wednesday is when the real fun started when we started our parody art. My parody art is based on "A Starry Night" and I changed it by just taking out the building and adding a green hill where animals are looking at the sky. All you see is the back of cats, dogs and a few rabbits looking over something similar to the orginal painting. I could only do my sketch the first day and start painting the grass so I get to finish the sky and the animals Monday.
Some ways to redesign this project I think the simplest is to pick an artist and then people would create a parody of one of that artists piece of art. It could make it little more challenging and can give the opportunity for people to learn more about that artist.
The activities this week made my week better. It was a fun activity and allowed me to learn more about artists and their artwork. I always color as a was to destress so to actually do it in a classroom really helped me relax.
I think a way to introduce children to different artists is by giving them a small talk about a certain artist and then showing them some art work of that artist. There are YouTube videos that can be entertaining for kids and there are some books too. So I think I would start by telling the kids about Bob Ross and how he paints some of the environment which we have learned about. Then I think my next step would be for the next class to show the kids some clips of Bob Ross' painting show to try to show the kids little bit about his technique and style. Then I would take a day just explaining about who he is and how he got his start and little more about his technique and style. Then my last step would be find a simple Bob Ross painting and allow the kids to follow along with the tutorial that Ross filmed.
