Week 3 Reflection

When talking about concepts during this week one term/phrase really stood out to me which is social-emotional learning. Social-emotional learning is the process of developing self awareness, social awareness, self management and responsible decision making skills which are all super helpful things kids will need to succeed in not only school but as well as in life. I find this concept to be interesting because it literally is the development of yourself as you grow up and work on so many positive things.

My mindfulness rock was just to draw what you wanted while listening to music. I was listening to the music when painting this rock and SRU just popped in my head. Next was the motivational rock where we put words or phrases to motivate ; I always say yay no matter the context so I figured that would be perfect for me to put. Next was the super power rock I painted in class. The task was to paint a rock that had super powers or could give you super powers which I thought was a super cool idea for the kids. I made mine a love rock; which I just took as loving everything and everyone is the super power.
Attending and doing this activity made me feel more relaxed. It was a fun way to learn in a not so formal way and made me not as stressed. I think there are so many ways to integrate this kind of art into the classroom. Painting rocks can be used in every subject I can think of in a few different ways. I think it would be a great way to help children learn math skills. Kids can paint numbers on the rocks or paint dots on the rocks then count how many dots there are.

I also made a love rock. I thought that this activity was very cute. I loved getting to paint things that I was actually feeling or thinking about at the time.
I liked that on the paper beside the rock you used it as wring space!

Week 10 reflection

I really enjoyed this assignment as I have never used any sort of AI before hand. This week in class really opened my eyes to a whole different world in not just education but this can be used everywhere. I have heard of AI and kind of knew what it was but I never knew any specific websites or anything like that. I really never even heard of a drawing AI simulator like Dall.e2. This class was super interesting to me and I really liked the assignment we did along with it; it helped bring a clearer understanding to me about AI and I think it helped a lot of other students.   I really liked using AI to create a story because it is super fast and I think in my personal experience the stories aren't terrible. But I think if it wasn't just like a short, small thing we were doing I would rather write my own so I have creative control over the whole thing. With AI I can change it if I want little so it's more how I envisioned it but it still is not the same as writing it myself an...

Week 12 Reflection

For week 12 I learned about creative drama and how it can be used in the classroom. In class we learned about the different drama techniques and how they can be used in the class; we also got a demonstration in class when Dr.Won read a book and used creative drama. I think 'person in a mess' is my favorite way to engage students because it is fun for the kinds and encourages them to use critical thinking or how to solve the problem.  I think using drama techniques as a teaching tool would be such a creative and cool way to engage the children. I think it gives kids a new way to learn, it can help them stay focus and may even help them remember what we are talking about during class.  Like I wrote right above I think it can affect children's learning in a positive way. I think this fun and different way of learning can keep students engaged longer and have them pay attention more. With students paying attention more I think this way of learning may help students retain in...

Week 6 Reflection

So I really love this weeks activity it made me feel like a kid. I think I should have planned ahead because I had no idea what to make so I just make little snowman looking people with faces and cereal hats. It took me quite a while to figure out what to make, how to make it and to actually put it all together took me a majority of the class.  I think with help kids in some of their fine motor skills while putting together their food art. Using those fine motor skills to put icing on the food, draw faces or just small details into their own art. I think it can also help children with critical thinking. Kids need to think about what they want to build and how to do it; this may involve trial and error to figure out what works best for their vision.  You can incorporate this in so many different subjects. One that I think is super cute is if you give kids like circular objects ,like fruits or crackers, then the students can color them and make them look like different pl...
